: King 4X4 Challenge!
great scott 04-28-2006, 10:37 AM The 3rd annual King 4X4 Challenge is set for June 3rd 2006 :smokin: in Price Utah. There will be three classes of 4X4s battling out over seven different courses including; an inclined Rock Garden, nasty deep Mud Bog, arena style Race Track, muddy Log Cross, Shown-Shine/functionality judging, wild Tire Pit, and the high torque Pull Off. There will be many other things going on to help fill your craving for off roading like; a Truck Show, Swap Meet, Vendors Row, and side shows going on all day. Everything will come to a head just before dark with our final event the Gauntlet. This is a man made wash course that we have stuffed with every obstacle we could and it makes for a killer show.
For more info check out www.kingcrawlers.com or just post up here and I will try to answer your questions.
jet_aj 05-01-2006, 04:15 PM Hey Great Scott, what are the classes you guys are having? you said three? so if i have a truck that is still street leagal, But just barely, (36" tires) would that affect my class, it seems kinda unfair if i was competing aginst guys with stock tires... but i would probably get killed by a guy with a full out buggy... i like my sheet metal. the website helped out too, great job guys...
hey also... if i didn't want to compete in all the events, say i only wanted to compete in just one or two events... how does that work without messing up the judging for the entire event... hey thanks:grinpimp:
great scott 05-01-2006, 05:31 PM Its fun.

Classes are; #1 Daily Driver=street legal(registered and insured) with 35' and under tires #2 Modified, this one is a mixed bag of street legal rigs with 36" or bigger tires and non-street legal with 38" and under tires, #3 Open all you need here is to be safe. There is a class for almost anyone with the guts to give it a try.
You register for all 7 events and if you miss one you forfeit all the points from that run. You should at least attempt each course to get what points you can. No not every rig will do well in every class, but he who dose the best average will come out on top.
blazerjeremy 05-02-2006, 07:34 AM I competed in this event last year (the 3rd pic 78mitsu posted the silver buggy). This event rocks. I had alot of fun with a bunch of great guys. And I won in my class so that helps it be lots of fun. The Gaunlet looks much harder this year. Also I here this year instead of a tug-o-war we will have to pull a Semi-truck up a hill. That should make it interesting. Thanks for putting this awesome event on GreatScott.

blazerjeremy did very well, not only did he win the open class, he is to date the only driver to ever beat the Mud Bog. So Jeremy are you going to have that thing ready to defend your title?
jet_aj 05-03-2006, 05:21 PM Holy cow, those pics look like it is a blast... :D
GubNi 05-03-2006, 06:35 PM I'd love to see more of those type competitions.

This is a killer comp to run and just as good to watch. Most all of the events can be seen from the main bleachers and the action never stops all day long. If you have a good all around 4X4 then this is the one for you. It rewards the team who can do it all. Plus this event is non-profit, all the $$$ earned go to the club to build up the 4X4 park and to the fight for our trails. No one gets a dime, as a mater of fact its cost me a bit more then a dime out of my own pocket.

great scott 05-16-2006, 01:14 PM Any one who registers before the 24th of May will be placed in a drawing for 1 of 2 free rooms in here in Price Utah. Registrations will still be accepted after that point but we will not have time to get you on the program for the spectators to follow.

blazerjeremy 05-30-2006, 09:36 AM Got the buggy running and ready to go just yesterday. So yes I will be back to defend my title this year. I need a lot of seat time practise but I will compete anyway. I will be out practicing at the 4x4 park as much as possible.

great scott 06-01-2006, 02:47 PM Cool looks like we will have 3 of our 4 Kings of past in action this year, going head to head. This should be a battle royal.
