stupid question but I searched the forum and I have yet to see one so I can look under it but is the transfer case divorced on the sidekick like the samurai?If so can you just swap the whole motor/tranny/t-case and put in front of sami t-case?I prob won't be that lucky....

yes, and mount your sami tcase right behind the sidekick one, with 4 to 1 in the sami tcase and 5.12's your at about 140 to 1

damn how come I dont hear of more people doing this swap it sounds killer,any drawbacks?would a 1.6 with an auto with sidekick t-case work well?would not mind having an auto if i had the power?

No, we have alittle hil and mud, that's it. Ocala is very nice though.

It's been done before. The major problem is the short shaft (intermediary shaft) that's needed between the two. It ends up so short it causes major vibrations (worse if you make it flange to flange only joined with a u-joint) unless you can shim (angle) the sami case perfectly to eliminate them. Short shafts are also really difficult to balance. The other "not quite as big" problem is that the front output on the kick is on the same side as the sami and could POSSIBLY get in the way.

Rick at OTT industries had his LWB with that arrangement at least a decade ago and it was a PITA from what I understand. I guess that's the price you pay to be a pioneer!
