Pre-stroke starter

Any suggestions for a starter replacment for 87 6.9 diesel starter
NAPA dealer mini ????????

Just get a replacement, one of the reduction drive units, they're either Nippon Denso, or Mitsubishi. They're the same basic motor etc as used on a Stroker, and, it sticks in my mind that they may be interchangable, but don't quote me on it.

I picked mine up last month. I think I paid $175 for it from a auto electric rebuilder. Wish I would have done it a long time ago. Spins my 7.3 over so fast, I don't even use the glow plugs unless it is a really cold morning.

Check out www.powerstrokeshop.com they are a Medium and heavy truck / Ford dealer in Indianapolis and have real good prices, and good people to deal with. If you call on the phone make sure you ask for "internet sales", there is a big price difference.
