Just picked up a 60...ancestry unknown. I want to find out what it came out of.

Here is what I know about it so far:

1. It's a FF rear 60.
2. "60" is stamped between the webbing of the housing
3. "C-30255" is stamped on another part of the housing
4. I found the bom stamp on the tubes. It looks like "603160 1", but the "1" in the middle is not clearly stamped. It could also be "603460 1" or "603760 1". I've tried all those variations on the dana site ( http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?cvsp~deabill~2~ ) but can't find a match.
5. I also found the date stamp on the tubes right next to the bom: "3 12 0B2". Anyone know how to decipher that?
6. WMS to WMS is 65".
7. 30 spline shafts. The inner diameter of the spindle is roughly 1.45".
8. Has an open carrier and 46:13 ratio (3.54).
8. Drum brakes.
9. "stud" type hub bolts.
10. the diff is roughly centered on the axle. The passenger side tube is .5" longer than the driver side.

Is there any chance that the Dana site doesn't have the part numbers for ID-ing all axles?

Of course, I'm going to run it. Finding out what it came out of is more of a curiosity than anything else.

LOL My thoughts exactly. Since you've taken it apart and looked at the guts, I don't see what the heck it matters. :p

I tried calling them... unfortunately, their engineering records don't go back that far... I checked both EvolvedHumanoid's number 603?60-1 (all variations 1,4,7, etc) and my number... no luck.

The date code 3 12 0B2 means it was built on March 12th, 2nd shift, line 2.

603160-1 is from a 70-71 dodge b300 van or motorhome with 3.54 gears and an open diff.
