I took my RT Front hub apart on my '91 explorer to tighten the wheel bearings a little.

Everything is going on fine except the cam for the automatic hubs

I line the key up with the slot on the spindle and push, but it won't go on. It came off tight, but not too tight.

Is there a trick to getting the cam back on the spindle?

Thanks IN Advance

There should be a little slot on the outer retainer nut. You need to have that ligned up with the groove that the key slides into. Then just tap the key into place with a screwdriver and a hammer. Give it a little love man :D It takes some force on occation. But dont go and damage the splines on the spindle. Then taking the nuts off again will be a horrid pain.

I ended up using the end of a calking tube as a bearing press. Gave it a little love, and it slipped right on.
Thanks
