: 62" Full Floating 8 lug Dana 60?
olivesman 04-11-2002, 07:34 PM i found on in the local treasure yard last weekend. anybody know what this might of came off of? spline count? it just seems really narrow. from the best i can remember, the pumpkin was centered.
also, can you run a 15" wheel w/ a 14 bolt full width?
thanks- russel
road1will 04-11-2002, 07:40 PM hmmm are you sure its not a 70?
if it is a 70 it could be out of a dually.
if it is a 60 or a 70 for that matter it is probably out of a van.
30 or 35 spline?

i found a 60 that was 62" wide. i had the small coarse splined shafts though. get a c&c 14bolt. they are beefy. just my op.
olivesman 04-11-2002, 08:04 PM are you talking about the 16 splined shafts? i would think it is tough b/c it's FF and has 4.10 gears.
what is c&c? can i run 15" wheels w/ a 14 bolt?
thanks for the help- russel
olivesman 04-11-2002, 08:06 PM OH YEAH, IT WAS DEFINATELY NOT A 70. MAYBE A 61(i don't know how to tell the 60/61 apart), BUT DEFINATELY NOT A 70!

yes the one i found was a 16 spline dana60 with 4.56 gears. a c&c dually 14bolt is a cab and chassis version. a cab and chassis is the work trucks that are bought without beds so flat beds, utility beds, etc can be added. i have found these under motor homes, box vans, wreckers, flat beds etc. they are 63" wide and have 1.5" 30spline shafts. i run one in my jeep and there are quite a few others on this bbs that do to. not all, infact most dually 14 bolts are 67" wide but the c&c version is the one you are looking for.
and to answer your question yes a 15" rim will bolt to a 14bolt.
4x4realm 04-11-2002, 09:48 PM My Dana 60 hd is a 35 spline with 4.88's came out of a 1973 winabago brave motor home. A friend told me to look under motor homes for sweet axels or I would have never though to look under one. Good luck.
Nobody 04-11-2002, 10:09 PM my dana 60 is 63" wms-wms...It's supposed to be from a f-250

I thought the c&c 14 bolts had the 67 " wms and the dually had the 63" wms?

cab and chassis dually 14bolts are 63" wms to wms.
the standard single rear wheel and standard dually 14bolts are 67" wms to wms.

fyi, winnebagos with 318's had 4.88 geared dana 60s and the 440 models came with 4.56 gears, so big blocks - 4.56, small blocks - 4.88. my winnebago has a 30-spline dana 60 with 4.88's. (and a chrome diff. cover, installed for less drag to make i go faster :D)
also i have a 60 full-floater in my YJ that came out of a 72 dodge truck and i'm thinking its about 61" or 62" wms to wms......it also had very small brakes for a 3/4ton..........
Blatant 04-12-2002, 09:42 AM I've also found a 62-inch D60, but as others have said, it was 16 spline. Not sure what it was out of, as it had already been pulled.

The Rockslut 04-12-2002, 10:15 AM I have seen many FF D60's in the mid 60's for trucks that were 62-64" wide. Of course they were all 16 spline.
