ok first off, a few months ago i purchased some corbeau baja seats from PORC for cheaper than anyone else, i was very happy with them. then i PM them to ask about some long travel shocks. i was interested in a pair of the 15" 29.99 a pair they have on their site, here is their reply

"hey man you're looking at $105 shipped to your door. remember that we have the guaranteed lowest prices anywhere! Shannon"

then i got another PM from Alex sayin it would be $138.96 for 4 shipped, not a bad deal.

something was wrong between these two replies so i replied them back

their answer was
"the quote i gave was for the two shocks and shipping. i must have put the wrong weight for shipping that quote you got from alex was right."

ok makes since, but then when i ask whats goin on here,

alex tells me, he has no idea what shannon is doin, and says those shocks are 29.99 each with shipping.
i made sure we were talking about the same shocks,
then they tell me,

"Yes you are correct. I priced you four shocks shipping($29.99 each and $19 to ship) and Shannon priced you two shokcs($39.99 each plus shipping). We offer a better deal on set of four. Thanks, Alex"

offer a better deal on a set of four?? then why is your site have them listed for $29.99 each, and why did Shannon tell me he must have put in wrong shipping weight?
too many different stories.

sorry that was so long, i just wanted to have all the facts there.

they say they have great customer service?? :shaking:

Your post is really confusing but I don't think you should be bashing vendors in this forum. I would delete this post if I were you. Besides, you're not out any money so what's your beef with these guys? Sounds like a fair deal on shocks to me, if you don't like the price just go buy them somewhere else.

The WHOLE crew at PORC rocks!! Amazing prices, amazing service, great guys all around! I am in Alberta Canada and still get all my parts from them.

I suggest you delete this and give PORC a shout, I have no idea what you were trying to say in your post.

i am not tryin to bash them or anything, but i am not the only one that has had problems with them recently. i just want to inform others that they may "quote" you a price for a product, when you can get it alot cheaper on their site

i have left them a message have not heard back, the only explaining they have done was a lie.

i know i didnt loose money from them, but the fact is, they jacked the price up on some shocks. not cool.

I have ordered from PORC dozens of times, everything from small parts to full on lifts. Never EVER had any bad experiences from these folks. Always the best prices, always the best customer service.

Not sure exactly what has been smoked on your end of the line, but I think that there is more than one side to the story....

sounds like one of them screwed up on a quote, or was unaware of the sale prices.
It happens.

i bought my tera low 4-1 from them they quoted a cheap price and even price matched someone else to make sure they had the cheapest price .... these guys go out of there way to give ppl deals .... you have No idea How many ppl these guys give quotes out too daily .... ive been in high volume auto part sales for many years and it is tuff to remember every quote you give ... ive asked for price quotes from them on here before then called and given a diff price they fixxed the price to what i was quoted and i was more then happy every time dealing with them .... PORC and DC4WD both have excellent service / prices ..

I have had nothing but great experiences with PORC. I have ordered from them a few times. They have the best prices around and are very honest and helpful.

I even had UPS break open a box (despite massive amounts of packing tape). They immediatly sent new parts and resolved the problem.

I'm a satisfied customer!

Take a few minutes and call them on an 800 number.

Ask for Alex and I am sure he will get it straight/worked out. He is interested in getting it right.

I have placed eight different orders over the last six months and no problems.

Same here. Good people. I get parts in house here in GA and order them over the phone. I would much rather drive an hour and half to go to PORC then go to the 4wp that is 10 minutes from my house. Alex is a great guy and i know he is not one to "screw" anybody by jacking up prices.

the one experience i had with them went sour when i called and ordered ove the phone (i didnt speak with alex). i ordered 30spline warn hubs a detroit and 5.13s for chevy d60. parts show up: 35spline warn hubs (i didnt really care, i deceided to upgrade instead of send back) and a detroit and 5.13s for a ford reverse cut hp d60. so i called back got the same guy, he said he remembered me ordering, and said that i told him i had a ford d60, almost like calling me a liar when i explained what happened. i asked if he could send the right parts and then it would be fine. he said he would send them and that i would have to pay to have the wrong parts shipped back, i was like wtf! well after 2 weeks i called to see where they were (this time i got alex) and he looked through the computer and said that guy hadnt done anything bout it. i explained to alex what happened and he apologized and said he'd send the right parts out the next day, and would pay the shipping of the wrong parts. couple days later i got the right parts and it was ok, except that it took over a month to finally get it straightened out.

they have the best prices by far. just make sure when you order, you order from alex, and alex only! i learned my lesson

Haven't bought anything in about a month or so but I've dealt with Alex many times over the past year or two buying gears, lockers and the like for buddies, club members and customers (thousands of $$$/many different transactions).

Never had one issue and the prices were unbeatable.

I ordered master install kits for a GM 8.5 and GM 9.5 from PROC. When they got here, they were for a GM 8.5 and GM 10.5...? I understand that mistakes do happen, but the kicker is that I was charged quite a bit more than what I was originally quoted on the phone. I called them up and no responsibility was taken on their side for the overcharge, and that it was going to be an extra $25 for the 9.5 install kit on top of the $45 that I felt I had already been overcharged...

I sent all the stuff back to them on my own dime so I could spend my money elsewhere.

I have heard lots of good things about PORC from many others, but my experience left something to be desired.

PORC has always been a great vendor and I have bought a lot of stuff through them and will continue buying and recommending to others. I had no issues, and they were always able to give teh ebst deals around and great response for quotes and service. Alex and Colby are great to work with.

Please contact the vendor rather than bashing them here.

I contacted them already, and was not satisfied with the response that I received. I don't like to get quoted one price and then charged another...

I am not trying to bash PORC and feel that sharing my negative experience is far from bashing. I try to be fair, and am just as quick to shout out about good service as bad.

Peace,

IMHO They have there good and bad time. Like when I ordered my axles from them. They told me it will be on this date but I received it 2 weeks later. Plus I ran that axle for 2 months and almost destroyed the R&P on the D44. Due to the lack of Drainage hole that was suppose to be drilled for the ARB. This cost me an extra 2 hours of labor that didnt needed to be spent. Sometime, They are just plain :flipoff2:. With my experience I will not order from them again and will only order from David at NorthRidge4x4.com.

Ok, you can be pissed with the vendor because of a delay on delivery, but you are pissed because you, or whoever you piad to do the install fucked up the install?? :shaking: Yep, I sometimes get mad at Chrysler when I run out of gas :flipoff2:

PORC is a very good vendor to work with, and some of the best vendors on the board, know their shit, have killer deals, and will go out of their way to help anyone out. Very surprised that mods are still keeping this thread around rather than contactingh the vendor and giving them a shot first. Tried calling? Tried PMing them?

i know his situation...let me translate for him.....he oesn't speak very good engrish....

he bought an alxe from PORC with gears and and ARB installed. there was no modification to the axle tube drainage area, like the newer ARB's recommend, and he was puking out gear oiil all over the place, and starving the center section....

i also know that he had an issue with a PORC SYE on his jeep in that the new tail shaft housing was seeping fluid through the actual housing....must have been an odd thing...he got it taken care of...

either way, i like PORC....i have had good transactions with them and have lots of friends who have. they seem to be willing to stand by their work and products....

biggreentj, are you on JU too?

yeah i admit it, i took alittle long to ship a few things.

anyway i talked with PORC and realized that they did mess up, but it was one person was talking about the 15"compressed, and another person was talking about the 22" compressed, which isnt on their site, i had previously asked them if we were talking about the same shock, and they said yes. but i guess they got confused.

so everything got worked out and i ordered the shocks i wanted for the correct price.

Ive bought tires from them and never again will I buy something from them, they said the tires over the phone were 150 so I go and pick them up and there 165, not really a big deal still somewhat cheap but what pissed me off was the guy said i was a liar when I told them they quoted me at 150 a tire and I was lucky to get them that they b/c they had to make a short drive to there wharehouse to get them. yes they have cheap prices but ill pay more not to be called a liar

I just bought a set of wheels from Alex this morning... super helpful and let me know of a certain shipping situation that they have on the wheels I ordered. Instead of telling me what I wanted to hear, he told me what to expect... always the better route to go!

Edit: Anyone try to get a tracking number out of the guy? Numerous messages and still nothing... :shaking:

great people, but only deal with alex... everytime i call down there its a different price, and he told me that each worker seemed to always have their own price:confused:  owell...

i ordered a bunch of stuff including gears, lockers, install kits... everything arrived with in the 7-9 day shipping. but the elocker came with sheared wires, not PORCs problem just shippin and eatons, but when i called alex he told me he would ship one out right away... well 2 wks pass and no locker... so i called him back up about 3 times (never returned any of my calls) and he then told me that he didnt have any left?? so why didnt he tell me that when i first called him?

now i have to wait for my elocker ($650) suppodesly sittin in detroit waitin for eaton to either fix it or send me a new one, which ever comes first... owell alex was very helpful until, i had to send him my eaton locker back... now its a waitin game

Alex and PORC have always come through for me.
It's not unheard of for different salespeople to give different prices. They know what their cost is and how much of a hit they can afford to take.

PORC is one of the most honest vendors out there, and I feel that a LOT of vendors could learn quite a bit from them. Mainly, their "Customer first" attitude. Great service! I buy all my new parts from them. Even some used parts, too. Alex has even talked me out of buying things he was sure I didn't need, in effect, taking money out of his pockets to make sure I ended up with all that I needed, and nothing that I really didn't. Now THAT'S customer service. They are #1 in my book!

As far as the complaints, we're all human, and we ALL make mistakes, no matter how perfect YOU THINK YOU ARE!:flipoff2:

Something people tend to forget is that internet prices vary from phonesales prices, just like phonesales varies from counter sales. If you saw a price of $XX.XX/pair, then you should have called and asked if that price was still good, or just ordered them off the web.
