I am looking for these nuts to build my suspension and steering with since I don't want to buy the inserts for $8 a piece and I need 7 of them. Anyone know of a place that sells these? I'm not looking for Jam nuts; regular grade 8 nuts. Thanks.

A few years back I was doing the same thing and couldn't find them. I ended up using 3 jam nuts together. I ground the 6 points off of them so they slip into the tube, sandwich them together on the bolt and plug weld the crap out of it. May not be the most proper way but shit when you ain't got the cash it works.

I know they exist somewhere though.... I think I'm going to try a local CAT supplier and see what they got. I really don't want to use 3 jam nuts even though my first steering I ever made was using just one jam nut. I want have a little more factor of safety on this build. Thanks.

Just buy a tap and make them out of a smaller nut or some tube.
