Ok I was able to buy brushes for $2 each, needed 3 for my 86 sammie starter, looks like the solinoid stuck and it's shot. So I went to the JY today, picked up a starter, took it out of a Geo Metro with the itty bitty 3 banger. looked the same other then the nose cone, did a little sise by side and measureing, bought it $16, took it home and swapped out the nose cone, put it on and it works great:D just a FYI in case u r out hunting the JY's and need a starter.

Considering I spent $145 to get a quality rebuilt starter, that is a valuable little tip. Thanks.

the cheap autozone rebuilds were $90:eek: and I'm selling this for $1500 so to put almost $100 into was not going to work.

I have used the alternator and fuel pump off of a Sprint. The timing chain cover looked identical too.
