I had a killer XR440 picked out. The sellar and I agreed on a price. I went to the bank for financing and by the time i got back home the fawker went and sold it!:nuke: Needless to say I am pretty damn bummed out as it was a one of a kind bike built by Motocross Action magazine and had everything done it. :crybaby2:

So I got this bright:idea:that maybe you guys might know of a tricked out one for sale? Anywhere in or near California would be cool. I searched Cycle Trader, but all of the ones that I wanted are sold. Damn it!

Can ya hook a brutha up?:D :usa:

Thank for any leads or suggestion.

Later.

Jimmy

Seriously though, unless you are deadset on one check out Cannondales

Whachu talkin 'bout Willis? Yes I checked E-bay. Nuffin! :(

What's the problem with gettin an XR? I almost bought a freakin DRZ400  :flipoff2:

I've been looking for a midsized enduro to ride back and forth to work and also go riding on the weekends with.

You should see the one that fawker sold out from under me. I am still pissed about that. Ah well $hit happens I suppose.

Those Cannondales are sweet, but I am not looking to buy a new bike.

Thanx for the suggestions though!

Thanx for posting that pic for me Jeff! In that pic it isn't street legal, but it came with a Baja designs street legal kit too!:crybaby2: I was going to throw on some radial knobbys and see about tryin, to start, to maybe, well you know, "GET IT". O.K. so I was gunna split some lanes on the way to work and back.:emb2::laughing:

Jeff I was just fawkin around and changed it one day. Now I can't change it back unless I become an extreme member. So I need to get off my fawkin arse and pay up. :emb3: :flipoff2:

On another note: I stopped by All American cycles today and thay had the Cannondales! Holy Bat $hit those things "look" nice. The seat was harder than hell on the enduro though. I think the tool kit even had some Preperation H in it too. :D 7,995.00 for the enduro 433EX! :( Maybe I'll pick up one used in a few years...;)

Whats wrong with the DR400? They are very reasonable, and good bikes. two of my friends have them and I think they get it prety good!

On the DRZ400. I haven't written them off completely yet. In fact they have some appealing aspects to them. Water cooled, rear foot pegs, Electric start, etc. They do have a nice plush suspension and seat from what I can "gather" sitting on one at the dealership.
They have smog on them, and those ungodly rear fenders.
The rear fenders look as though they could be altered fairly easily though.

I really liked that XR400 though damn it, and it's quite possible I may be able to find one like it again. We'll see. for now the cash is parked in the bank until I find the right one. A couple of guys from the XR400 board e-mailed me saying that they had tricked out XRs for sale. Not sure why they didn't just send me pics though?

The DRZ 400e can be a red/green sticker night mare for some of us Californians.

XR 400 is a claer and simple green sticker bike that is very easy to get plates for in the California.

I like the DRZ but until it is a cut and dry green sticker bike I won't get one.

I don't want to hassle with out of state lisencing and all that crap.

My brother's got one for sale, but he brought it back to Washington with him. It's a 96 xr 400- race tech gold valve suspension, white bro's header and exhaust, pro taper bars, etc. Set up for woods riding. He wanted about $2800 for it.

UHM well you ahh better make that three of your friends Jeff :emb3: I was going to buy a 2001 DRZ400S from Ventura and for $800 more I discovered that I could buy a brand spanking new 2002 DRZ400S with the upgraded suspension. I read that the previous years were too mushy. So I bought the blue one this after noon. :D :bounce::bounce2::smokin: She's my first brand new bike.;) I know I said I wasn't lookiing to buy a new bike, but....
BTW: The dealer met the cheapest price I could find on the net!:D

Have a look at it.

Dang!!! Thats a bad ass bike! You'll have to ride up (or truck it up) and we can go for a afternoon ride up in the hills. Damn, I kinda wanna get rid of my XL250 and get one of those!

Thanx Jeff. I don't think I'd call it bad ass persay, but it seems to be a very good mid-sized dual sport bike. I think the picture they have on Suzuki.com is of a 2001 model, because mine has different graphics on it.

Also I think it was good that the XR400 I wanted fell through though. I believe I bought a bike a bit better suited for what I want it to do.

Now as far as coming up riding all I can say Oh hell yea! In fact since no one seems to be interested in my jet skis I can throw the bike on the trailer in between them. So we can go riding and then jet ski Folsom!:smokin: I'd suggest Rollins, but I know you think its too cold.:D:flipoff2:

I'm picking the bike up this afternoon. :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:

May be too early for you, but as long as the weather is good on Sunday, me and the family (and my Brother-in-law with his dr400) will be at Prarie City riding. Come up if you wanna!

Hey Jeff, I can't make it up this weekend but thank you for the invite. I have Cassidy Saturday and will be finishing the prep work on the Dog House for wheeling the weekend after this one. When the bike's broken in and the suspension is tuned I'll be up for sure(with the jet skis too;))! If I didn't already have a full plate for the weekend I'd join Loppy and his family out at Carnegie on Saturday, but there's always next time.:usa:

So anyway I picked her up yesterday and have had a big grin on my face ever since. I'm amazed at how light and nimble this bike feels. It had one mile on it when I left the dealer at 4:00. When I got to work this morning it had 75.? miles on it. :D Another 75 miles and I can start opening it up.:vader2: I can tell you that at 70MPH it still has just a bit less than half throttle left. I'll bet she'll do 85 + MPH easy.

I think it will need a steering stabilizer though. The steering is just so light and flicky. Maybe I just need to get used to the feel of it still. The bike is pretty tall, but feels smaller for some reason when you're riding it. I need to adjust the compression and rebound dampening too. It's a bit firm still for my fat ass. :emb2:

When I left the dealer I hit the freeway and of course traffic was stop and go, but not me! :smokin: It's so nice to just cruise up the center of traffic! :flipoff2: I'm pretty stoked so far with it.
