Infernal Jeep 05-06-2006, 12:04 AM Nice.
big94GMC 05-06-2006, 12:04 AM :cool2: Unique.... I like it!
JoshTurner 05-06-2006, 01:01 AM That is sweet....
BUZZISCRAZY2 05-06-2006, 03:31 AM :cool2: Unique.... I like it!
Duhh.........It's a FORD:D
:jester:
rebelchevy02 05-06-2006, 06:40 AM looks good, although, it also looks like thats all the more you can turn till tires start hitting the frame?
jacko 05-06-2006, 07:12 AM at full lock the tires just barely touch the leafs, and when I am able to flex it out it looks like I might be cutting the front rad support a little.
knock off 3 feet of frame and anything can look unique :D
Dustball 05-06-2006, 08:31 AM at full lock the tires just barely touch the leafs, and when I am able to flex it out it looks like I might be cutting the front rad support a little.

Looks good. I'm in the middle of doing something very similar except mine's with an F-250 ex-cab and I'm shortening the bed. Running 42's with zero lift.

LeviGarrett76 05-06-2006, 09:06 AM looks great....those rear shackles look interesting.....do they work well????
460 under the hood?
plug ugly 05-06-2006, 10:35 AM whats the wheelbase on the 350? Did you shorten it?
Have thought alot about what to do with the bronco when it dies, and these are the two options I have been considering
RawPower 05-06-2006, 11:09 AM Damn I thought I was the only one shortening the bed. WTF
Anyways, looks sweet. Shackles are interesting too... dont see how they can droop?
http://www.supermotors.org/getfile/318806/fullsize/SPC%202006%20114.jpg
jacko 05-06-2006, 05:32 PM its got a 7.3 diesel 5.13s welded rear, lock right front->soon to be arb, 39.5/18/16.5 on 12" rockcrawlers
wheelbase was around 155 last time I strung a tape out I think
jacko 05-06-2006, 08:18 PM It droops ok, the shackle can go about 10* negative before it hits the crossmember, but this way it can never reverse on me. If I want more I can either notch the shackle or the rear crossmember.. but I'm going to wait unitll I get the rest of the weight on the rear of the truck first.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/621000-621999/621568_66_full.jpg
for some reason I cant get the picture of the shackles flexed out up on cardomain, this is all I have for flex pics for now.
mad_boi 05-06-2006, 09:11 PM Pretty cool:smokin: You gonna do crossover or hi-steer eventually?
Donahue 05-06-2006, 10:21 PM Pretty cool:smokin: You gonna do crossover or hi-steer eventually?
well, he's already got cross over...and a bent one at that.
jacko 05-06-2006, 11:32 PM Thats the stock steering in there right now, I just threw it back on so I didnt have to kick the tires to steer it while im working on it.. But for now it seems that its going to work half decent, maybe just a 4" drop pitman arm.
Ideally that front axle was going to go in the back with a spool and my other kingpin D60 was going up front, but I'm still waiting for parts for that plan and now I'm thinking I might now even do it anymore.
The whole thing is getting kind of fast tracked for a wheeling trip on may long. Just got started on the whole deal about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
3 months ago it was doing this. :D

Nitrofueled14 05-07-2006, 08:31 AM Now thats a real working truck! I wouldn't want anything other than a Ford for working like that.
Proeliator 05-07-2006, 01:23 PM I've always dug the shortened up supercabs. Been thinking about doing one myself, kinda like Az's even though I always cringe whenver I see pics of how trashed it is now compared to how it was
Ramboss429 05-07-2006, 07:54 PM I am really digging that truck. Can't wait to see it as it evolves!
BUZZISCRAZY2 05-08-2006, 03:49 AM Now thats a real working truck! I wouldn't want anything other than a Ford for working like that.
Nothing else does WORK like that..........:)
Keep it up...............:jester:
I'm gonna be doing the same thing (box shortening) on a 79 CC :flipoff2:
jacko 05-10-2006, 06:50 PM I finally was able to get the pictures up of the shackles
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/9/web/621000-621999/621568_67_full.jpg
RawPower 05-11-2006, 08:55 AM man thats crazy stuff, what made you build them like that?
somebody needs a new d-shaft...
edit: good to finally see someone building an IDI diesel... yours turbo?
4runner 05-11-2006, 10:24 AM someone out there surey needs a base to build their own F350 trail rig?
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470948
jacko 05-11-2006, 08:45 PM I built the shackles like that for several reasons:
-wanted to get the shortest frame possible for better departure angle
-good way to get a 7" shackle without going under the frame and having to basically lift the back another 3.5"
-got a good deal on the springs but they were 5" lift springs designed to work with fords stock upside down shackle so they were really tall behind the axle
-shackles can never reverse when you droop
-something different??
And its not turbo yet :smokin:
Already got a new rear shaft made, getting the front done next week.. Also just got all the stainless brake lines and new fuel lines so this weekend I can get all that shizzat sorted out and fire this thing up!!:D :smokin:
Ramboss429 05-12-2006, 04:43 PM Good enuf reasons for this guy! I like guys that aren't skeered to step outside the bubble. Now lets see this thing in action!
animator 05-14-2006, 04:22 PM D-ring on your front bumper looks :smokin:
:flipoff2:
cool build...
jacko 05-26-2006, 12:07 PM Just got a few pics from last weekend's trip off one of my cameras so I thought I'd share

NetBSD 05-26-2006, 12:21 PM that last pic looks like it sucked real bad, i like how the rear of the truck looks, its something like i was going to do with my f150, i wanted to toss a crew cab on my frame andshorten it so it looked like that, very nice work
RawPower 05-26-2006, 12:44 PM bad ass.
You have almost convinced me to go with a tub back rather than the shortened bed like i posted earlier in this thread. almost...
looks like you need some beadlocks.
jacko 05-26-2006, 01:03 PM Thanks for all the complements on the truck, I'm pretty happy with how it works/ looks so far.
That last picture happened right after I dropped from 25psi down to 15. Dropped off a 4' ledge into a hole, must have had some logs in the bottom or something.
Im kinda dissapointed that they come off that easy. Oh well, I'm looking into rockstompers' weld-on beadlocks right now.
Hopefully tonight I will have some better action pics up.
RawPower 05-26-2006, 01:37 PM just curious, what are you using to bend all this stuff?
Edit: and where are you located?
jacko 05-26-2006, 01:52 PM I'm using my JD2 model 3 bender, and all the tubing so far is 2" x .125 ERW
Oh and I'm in Kamloops, BC, Canada (couple hours from Vancouver)
LeviGarrett76 05-26-2006, 02:02 PM what size are the wheels?
jacko 05-26-2006, 02:39 PM 16.5x12 in 39.5x18 boggers
LeviGarrett76 05-26-2006, 03:55 PM ohhhh ok, that explains it....no safety bead, diy beadlocks wont do you a bit of good because the inside bead will still come off very easily
you need double beadlocks....
recentered hummer wheels would be a good option.....double beadlocks but they are only 8.25" wide...it woudl be fine off road, the narrow wheels protect the wheel from harm
i just recntly got rid of my 16.5x12 aluminum wheels and got some 16.5x10 double locks
its nice to be able to go below 15 psi and not have to worry about losing a "bead"
NetBSD 05-26-2006, 04:27 PM eah i have 16.5's now and hear nothing but bad news with beads popping off so im switching to 16x10 with some 39.5" irocks, but i need about 4 to 4.5" of backspacing, hard to find down my way i think
OffRoad 05-26-2006, 05:47 PM good looking truck. really clean.
can we some more pics of that little number in the skirt?:grinpimp:

jacko 05-26-2006, 11:04 PM If you look in that picture everyone is running away because the slack is half picked up on that strap..
I was testing the engineering of stock ford bumpers :flipoff2:
I think there are some more pictures of the girls on the other camera, I'll work on it :smokin:
Collins150 05-27-2006, 09:38 AM Yeah, that F350 is nice. that is what I wish I had started out with.:( I Rebuilt my F150 with an old bronco d44 with the cast c. Ive already broken and replaced shafts and u joints up front with chromolys. You on the other hand are set with your front 60. Keep up the creativity. I like the shackles, look strong. Here are a few pictures of mine. (If I can get them to upload correctly):mad3: I cant wait to finish my bumber and rocksliders so I can build a smaller Cheaper rig, this ones been scrapin on rocks and trees everywhere. One other thing, did you box in the frame between the cab and rear cage to keep the frame from twisting like mine does.

Yeah I like it a lot. I have a 79 CC 250 I want to do something very similar with. Kamloops hey, cool! I live in Salmo BC (boonies).. near Nelson, Trail etc.
I was gonna keep the stock bed sides and build a tube box but ya.. hard to say now.. :) That thing looks awesome!
Oh yeah, have you seen the DIY bead locks? Lemme dig up the thread..

PsychoticDeadGuy 06-03-2006, 07:07 PM I think its pretty cool. I am not into fords that much but those are some really good ideas and other than your rims, it looks like it works really well.:smokin:
Pooze 06-12-2006, 12:18 AM Wouldn't fit on the Rubicon very well But it is a Bad A$$ rig
American 06-12-2006, 12:01 PM vancouver is nowhere near the rubicon, so I don't think that'll be a problem
JeepNatzi#2 06-12-2006, 01:15 PM That thing is wicked!!!:D
'97 V8 06-13-2006, 02:09 PM that truck is badass. You should come to Vancouver sometime to go wheeling up north. Great work on the truck.
