Does anyone know what is considered to be normal oil pressure for a 4.2 at normal temperature? I am looking for pressure at idle and 2000 rpm.

Mine is in the 7Psi range when at Idel and I can pull 40Psi or so at full pull...

mine is about 10psi per 1k rpm. i'm glad that i saw this post as i just got an oil pressure gauge to work on mine and was wondering what was normal for the 258.

I ran about 5 psi at idle when warm and 15 at 1800-2000 for 4 years with no problems but the cam bearings were bad on inspection and caused the first level of "drop" in pressure.

Mine bounces off the goose egg while crawling but chills at 40+ cruisen the freeway and goes upwards of 60psi when getting on the freeway or accelerating hard.
