I have a 93-f350 n/a diesel 4x4 with the monobeam solid axle.

I bought the 6" kit last week.

The question I have is that when installing the drop bracket(the gold looking plate with 6 holes in it)

If you are facing the front of the truck my question is that does the factory bracket go behind the plate or in front of the plate to be bolted?Does it matter?

Also I wanted to know is that the instructions say to put the longer part of the spring towards the front.Well i cant tell since the spring looks the same regardless how you look at it.Its all even built nothing is shorter or longer on one side.

Thanks in advance.

if your talking about the track bar drop bracket the factory bracket will only go one way it has to sit flat like origonal . as far as thr springs go try using a tape measure to determine which is longer end if that doesnt clear it up for you line up the center pin with the shock tower.

So whichever way it came off and what seems the flattest or most level?

I guess I would just measure from the center holding stud right?

I wonder as far as bolting.I guess two washers is good front and back right?

Im just kind of intimidated since its my first lift.

If you take a measuring tape and go from the center pin to each eye of the spring, you will see which end is longer. It might be the same. And as for the bolts, yea one washer on the front, one on the back with a lock washer, and you will be good to go. With this being your first lift, just take your time, double and triple check everything and dont hesitate to ask more questions. Sounds like you have the right idea though....

Okay i got the plate on because it only can fit on one way.God i feel stupid.Anyways,I got the nut and washer off of the pitman arm shaft on top but now I cant get the arm off the grooves.I've tried everything.I had to heat the nut to get it off.Whats the best way to get the pitman arm off?

Other than that I would be able to put the springs and shocks on today.

Oh yeah no lock washers but washer in front & back.Oh well.

You can use a puller for the pitman. You might be able to borrow one from a local auto parts. Some of them will loan you tools.

get a big friggin hammer and whack on the pitman itself (hit where the arm is on the sector shaft) and it should just fall right off.

I finally got the pitman arm off after I bought a pitman arm puller. For jesus sakes i had to f****** grind the puller tool tops with a grinder because they wouldn't fit underneath the box and the arm where the grooves are on the actual arm.

Well atleast I got that old piece of steel off the truck.New one now.I hope the skyjacker arm is on the grooves enough. It seems like it.New parts never want to go where old ones have been. Its tight as hell. The thing now is that i got the new pitman arm on but the tie rod that goes to that i had to replace because of stupidity.I kept on beating on the top of the stud.I saved the pitman arm side by grinding that side down to where the nut would fit again.Thank god and i never needed new thread......but the thing unscrews in the middle because the pitman arm comes in two pieces.

There is like a cover with 2 bolts that hold the little rod to the pitman arm on one side and the rest to another piece that hooks back to another rod.

My question is now that after i bought another side rod but not the one that goes to the pitman arm is that i cannot get the rod to go all the way into the hole into the rod that is somewhere on the axle,....i dont know.i might just loosen it all and try not to mess up the threading.

The thing is that i tried beating in into the hole with a little hammer. Its stuck now.Man i need some help or if anybody could share some experiences I would really appreciate it.Thank you

Okay I got everything on so far but except the new springs and shocks.I got the passenger spring going on but the pin is not sitting on the hole on the axle yet?

Do you need to unhook the brake lines?

I cannot drop the axle anymore to give the spring some play to hook up the front part.So im going to have to either take the lines off or jack the truck up even higher which is starting to be really inconvienent since Im lacking blocks and jacks.

I had to take the front spring hangar off so I could have some room to swivel the back of the spring into place so the back could be bolted.Thats done but the spring is too much of a u to bolt in the front with hangar since there's no room.I could drop the axle practically to the ground but Im afraid of snapping the brake line/hose and causing damage.

Any suggestions. Thanks a lot for hanging with me.Oh yeah by the way. There is a longer and shorter piece of the spring and I measured it at first but it just didn't look like it at first.

I am not sure, but I have a 95 F350 and a 3" lift and the brake lines are maxed out. I thought anything more needed longer brake lines? I am pretty sure a 6" lift would require the longer brake lines.

Also you say you took the front spring hanger off, do you also have the reverse shackle kit? what hanger are you talking about, the factory setup just uses a shackle bolted into the frame ears? If you have the front hanger kit and are putting a 6" lift on there, you defitnately need longer brake lines.
