I did search on this with limited results. I will be trashing the over the frame rail headers and go to the block hugger type. The local muffler shops are saying that 2 1/2" pipes with a "Y" pipe into a single muffler, then 2 1/2" pipe all the way back would work best for a mild chevy 350. I really like the coolness factor of duel exhaust but if the single works just as good or better, I might as well save a little cash and go single.
So what do you think, single or duel?
Also, I was quoted $400 tops with a top of line muffler. Is this a decent price?

I recently did mine and $400 is good, I used flowmaster and 2.5 but at the muffler I split for coolness into two pipes and if I had to do it again I would stay single.....

Single for sure if you're a rock crawler. What do you mean by 1/2" pipe?

He said "2 1/2", or 2.5.
Hey Dan, what's a duel exhaust? Is it gonna fight itself?

Single as said above. Less crap to hang on rocks!

Exhaust size recommendation for a 2F motor?
One one rig we ended up using some 2" DOM  for exhaust tubing. It was a Pro Rally car and actually stayed withe vehicle for a couple of years of sliding over some big rocks!
On my FJ40 the header down pipes are just asking for a big rock to crush them. Hmm, need to remember a hacksaw for the trail.

Jeff, what I ment was 2.5" pipes from the headers to the "Y" pipe. Not a quantity of 2, half inch diameter pipes.
Yeah Matt, dueling pipes. And not the :rainbow: kind.
They may not actually fight each other but they dont help each other either. From what I've learned a crossover pipe or single exhaust will help scavange exhaust better for more low end torque.
I too thought about using a duel output muffler for 2 pipes out the rear, but that would be adding cost just for looks. Anyone who has seen my cruiser :nuke: knows thats not what I'm about.

I went dual exhaust, everything is between the frame rails until it exits. Since it never has to cross from one side to the other it actually hangs down less than a single exhaust. Had it ran from the exhaust manifold back with mufflers total was $200.
