I put my fuel cell in last weekend using rings from TJKen. Couple of questions I had, did you all reuse the stock rubber gasket around the pump/sender, or did you just make your own and use it. I was trying to use both the stock rubber gasket and one I made out of gasket material, but I ended up only using the one I made. It works good, only thing I cannot figure out is why my gas gauge no longer works? Any thoughts or areas I should troubleshoot?

I also used TJKen's rings and I re-used the stock gasket around the pump, plus made one to go under the top ring. Worked great.
My sender works perfect, did you wire yours correctly? 4 wires if I remember right.

Well I was not able to reuse my stock gasket, but I would have liked to. I guess I need to double check the wiring, because it is not working at all.
Did your guys wires reach into the bed? Or did you have to extend alot of the wiring and hoses?

All of my wires had to be extended.

i put my fuel cell right behind the front seats and got all the stock lines and wires to reach by going through a hole right under/behind the drivers seat. I made 4 small tabs to hold the pump down and use the stock gasket and it leaks pretty bad, i need to fix it.

What did you make your gasket out of, i had heard cork works well...

That's some pretty whitetrash crap there man. The tabs holding down the pump are major booty-fab. How did you seal the tab screws that go into the cell? Not to mention your hoses and lines look like a rats nest. :shaking:

Please tell me the shoulder harnesses are not bolted to the c-pillar of that pos stock seatbelt bar (not even going to call it a rollbar)

Thanks for the compliment:flipoff2: no leaks around the screws, just around the pump, the seal got a little damaged during removal. Sorry i don't have a plasma table to cut out a ring and didn't really want to pay for one.
Wiring isin't as bad as it looks, i guess the extentions cords and drill cord make it look worse than it really is, yea there is some extra slack in the wiring that is looped and zip tied and the fuel lines aren't completly straight but it doesn't seem to be hurting anything.

Yes seatbelts go back to the rear bar, its a fairly straightback pull, shouldn't cause the spinal injuries people are worried about with belts mounted to the floor behind the seats. Personally with a a rigid seat i don't see how the mounting point for the belt really makes a difference, the belt presses against the bottom of the hole in the seat before it goes to your shoulders, so as far as i can tell the seat is taking the force not your spine, unless the seat crushes from the force i don't see the harm. With that said i am planning on building a harness bar, i've only built the basics of the cage so far, it needs a lot more work.
What is problem with the stock rear cage as the basis for a full cage. I need to add a spreader from the right to left in the upper rear corners to stiffen it up but the stock bar is a fairly large diameter tube and not that thin from what i can tell, but whatever. I've seen plenty other cages built off the factory cage, if it was that weak i don't figure i would see many people doing it but...

Can TJKen make rings for a fuel cell going in a YJ?

The YJ pump is different than a TJ pump. The YJ's are easy to transplant the pump. Take a look at it and you can tell. Good luck.

double check and triple check all your wires. Use some sort of dielectric grease to keep them lubed up and trouble free.
