Gas Tank Removal

i am getting ready to remove my gas tank and it looks like i have to remove the driveshaft to get the tank out. this is on a 1979 fj40. do i need to remove the gas tank to cut the body tub off ??? or can i just cut it off with out removing it?? i have 4 off the body mounts cut. the only 2 i lack are the two up front in the floorboards. thanks please reply

I don't know. I haven't crawled under my '80 to look yet. If you don't get satisfactory responses, try searching Coolcruisers.com or Ih8mud.com. They tend to be more "purists" and have the step-by-step committed to memory. That being said, people in this forum are a great help with stock questions, too. Just giving you other ideas. There's always the Haynes manual, too. ;)
