Its rated as a 3/8 inch welder. However, the recomended initial setting for 3/8 inch steel is 5 voltage and 70 speed. The welder goes up to 7 voltage, so couldn't you weld thicker metal?

i have about 2 hours experience with my mm210. i would say that on *mild steel* with an er70 hard wire you can max out the wire speed and need no more heat than level 5. i love this welder, used to use a mm175...

It can weld 3/8" on pot #4 with .035 E71-T11 with a sinlge pass! I've done 1/2" with no problems.
