hey everyone i am going to be starting a build up soon and was wondering what gears to use right now i have toyota's f/b that i am getting ready for my build up and i want to run 36x13.5 iroks. i will have a chevy 4.3 liter engine a 4 speed tranny and i havent decided on the transfer case yet. what i am wondering is if my 4.10 gears will work or if i should up grade up to say 4.88 or 5.29 gears any info would be great thanks

I was out with a Samurai buggy on 37" Irocs last weekend, he had the 6.1 T-case gears and the 4.10s in yota axles. He had no problems on anything he tried including rock garden, trails, deep mud, steep inclines. I didn't really get a look if he was using 1st or 2nd gear allot but it seamed like it was a pretty good combo. I think you could keep the 4.10s in the axles and just go as low as you can on the T-case gears.
