What are the causes for the first two cylinders missing. I checked for vacuum leaks, plugs, and wires. Everything looks good. Any ideas if my distributor needs rebuilding? Compression check about a year ago was good also.

At idle I pull the plug wires for those two cylinders and the idle speed remains constant.

Have tried swapping the No.1 & 2 leads around at the distributer?

Have you pulled the plugs to see if they are oil fouled or bridged with gunk and shorted?
