The stock offset for the jeep 2.5L engine is .5" off-Center Right. the D35 Diff housing is offset I think 3/4" or something to that effect.

Question:
When I swap the Chevy 4.3L & 8.8 rear-end, should I offset the engine the same?

In Other words. The ford 8.8 is around 2.75" off-Center Right almost 2" more than the D35 I have now. Should I match that with the engine? What should I do? Any suggestions?

I would leave it as is, But if you want to move it don't forget about the front end. Maybe make the differnece up by moving it 1".

I was thinking that I should just keep it at .5" offcenter. I'm putting in a CV driveshaft so the angle should be ok correct?

you'll be fine. when I did the same engine swap I offset it 1" to the pass side and my rear is centered. The CV doesn't care as long as the total angle (side to side and up and down) doesn't exceed it's operating range.

With a CV shaft you won't even notice the offset. I have a 4.3l, AL460E, Atlas II, abt 7" lift, CV shaft, and a Ford 8.8. I didn't do anything to compensate for the offset and it works just fine.
