I am switching to a V8 plant, and have many parts for sale from the original 1974 F motor. The motor was rebuilt less then 7K miles ago, and just spun the #2 and #3 bearings. The pistons are new, it has been bored, honed, new rings, oversize pistons, new clutch etc. Head was surfaced, valves replaced, new cam, reground lifters. This a very tight motor. To rebuild, it would take a crank, two rods, and a bearing kit, all of the other work has been done. The complete long block, for $800 OBO. I also have the following parts that were installed last year. 38 MM Webber carb w/ K&N filter and pre-wrap, $250. HEI distributer w/ plugs and wires, $250. New power steering pump bracket for F/2F motor, less than 2 weeks old, $80. Used (a little dented) Specter 6 into 2 headers with brand new 2.5" single pipe exhaust and Magnaflow welded muffler, $250. Another set of tunes 6 into 2 headers, $25. Radiator with small leak at top tank, $10. Several alternators, a smog pump, original '74 distributer and extra caps, etc... make offer. I need to get rid of this extra stuff, so email now. I live in Northern California (Weed), but will be in Sacramento the end of April if you are close and would like to see any of the items. Just because you guys all trashed your F/2F stuff doesn't mean that somebody out there actually might want to restore a cruiser. Maybe this is the wrong place for that, but last I checked to get an long block F motor, was over 2K, so for somebody to be able to restore their F motor to perfect running status for less than $1500 seems like a good deal to me. If you all know how to restore an F motor for less than that, please elaborate, and then I will happily accept that I am charging too much. In the meantime, there are other parts too. If you don't like it, fine!

When I pulled my F out of my 1973 40 with 90,000 miles, it was running perfect. All I got from it was a smile and a thank you when I gave it away. Otherwise it would've cost me $50 to take it to the dump Don't kid yourself, the demand for F engines is just not there.

If the bearings are spun with only 7K miles... it shows a POOR REBUILD! Reusing an old oil pump, without inspecting it, is just asking for problems. Ditto on not using plastigauge on the bearings.

Shouldn't this be in the for sale section??? And yeah, this isn't exactly the best place to try and sell that stuff. Two words: boat anchor.

lavabeast- if you want to get anything from that old F motor, try a place that has forklifts. A lot of the old forklifts had toyota F motors because of the low end torque- I found a guy at a local machine shop with some old forklifts, and I traded him all of my motor stuff for some welding. We both were happy with the deal.
