Can someone tell me the difference between open and closed knuckle 60's?

SEARCH:rolleyes: this took me 5 mins and i already know the difference
OPEN KNUCKLE=GOOD
Closed knuckle=BAD

sometimes closed knuckle is oil bath like in land rovers, which isn't all that bad, but it limits turning radius

Thanks, I had read about the difference before in a magazine but It wasnt quite as clear as Brad was.
