Anybody know offhand what, if any, differences there are between say a 1995 XJ AX-15 and one from a 1998 TJ?
The back half of the one in my TJ is cracked & the yards around here think the TJ version is gold-plated.
AW-4 swap is in the plans for the future, but this is also my daily driver and I need to get back on the road quickly....

The XJ version has a lower rotation for the transfercase then the TJ version. You could either get a clocking ring to fix this, or redrill the tailhousing.
I love my AW-4 swap, one of the best things I have done to my TJ. :)

The AW-4 swap writeups I've read had me wondering about that. I *really* want to do that swap, but time is critical, and if I can just easily toss in another AX-15 for now.... plus it'd be less $$. I can put the auto swap on the back burner for a while.
Thanks.

Yeah, cause those are so much less expensive and more readily available than the AX-15. :flipoff2:
Actually, if I could find one at a good price, I'd do it. But they ain't nun round these parts.
