serious answers only - no BS...I'll take opinions and input both positive and negative, but no BS and chit-chat.

so how many of you would seriously considerdonating $5 a week to a PBB L/U fund (through paypal or something like that)?? I would say we can take the money and split it up between BRC,UFWDA,CORVA and CAL4WDC...or something...

everyone of us can afford one less trip to taco bell a week...

comments??

all donations would be in addition to what everyone usually donates through their regular avenues - NOT instead of! We are in for the long haul to save our access- AND IT'S NOT CHEAP!!!

vote and gimme you comments....

Thanks,

Peter,

I think this would be great. The problem is we have a hard time getting people to donate to already established organizations that are helping to fight even something like the El Dorado Forest lawsuit. What is the probability that they will donate to PBB L/U and BRC & CORVA?

People just don't get it until it is too late and their favorite trail has been closed.

not sure how m logic is, but some people might be more inclined to donate if they are being a part of something larger... like they don't want to waste the time to send $20 to BRC or something, because "it's only $20" ....now if they know their $20 is part of $1K...they might feel as if it's really helping out more...

Can't hurt, it's been my experience that the easier it is the more you will get, still it's like pulling teeth, no that's easier, to get four wheelers to open their wallets for land use. Crome TJK gas filler necks sure, new tires you bet, but land use, naw

Give it a try, I'm going to try and figure out this paypal deal for SWFWDA's LAF myself.

Personally I wouldn't do it but I would go for raffles and stupid stuff like that. I think the majority would also. I'm sure 1tondriveline would be willing to help at least once. Maybe stuff to get people invlolved like BRC membership card pic will get you in to a raffle. Most people would rather not be burdened with a HUGE $20/month bill. What about a raffle of 1/2 cash goes to BRC and the other half goes to the winner. Just a suggestion and yes I donated $45 to BRC legal fund last month and am glad to do it so its not just because I'm cheap.

This is not directed at anyone in particular but I'm not sure why $20 a month is such a big deal to some people to keep the trails open, when damn near everyone of us will go out on a friday night and spend that without thinking twice - hell most of us drink twice that on any given night out...

I personally just got back to work in January - since being out of work since July of 99 - The whole time I was out of work, I never let any of my memberships lapse (BRC, CA4WDC, NRA, and a few others)...If I can do it without an income, why do people with an income have such a hard time finding $20 a MONTH.... Thats one less trip to 7-11 or taco bell a week to ensure the future of our sport....

Yep that was sarcastic. I am just amazed how hard it is to get anyone to put any effort or cash at all to the cause. I agree it can and should be done. but if there are other ways to get people involved then we should look at them. I am not saying its a bad idea, we should just try to come up with the most productive way to generate $$$$. Also when you give directly to BRC its tax deductable with a receipt and when your giving a good chunk of $$ every year that helps a little. If it were available it would help - maybe get a yellow star or something special like that.

I like that idea...I'll talk to Lance and see if 2 stars can be up simultaniously...and how hard it would be to maintain them as more people donate and others stop donating - I mean if we're giving them a star to doante, then we have to take it away if they stop...

Right now, any spare money I send to land use is going to go to the SWFWDA fight against the econazis in Las Cruces. We need to get Wolfs Run and Guardian opened back up, and show the nazis that they can't push us around, especially when it comes to RS 2477 issues.
