I've got the following ingredients:
1984 1/2 ton 2WD Suburban new OD tranny 6.2 diesel. rust free.
1994 LT-1 Engine, trans, harness and steering column.
Dana 60 4.10 detroited rear axle.

I want to build it into a 3/4 ton 2wd tow rig, work truck.

I can bolt the front suspension components from a Late model 3/4 ton pick up onto the Sub to beef it up to 3/4 ton status right?

Would the LT-1 combo be good as a truck engine or should I stick with the 6.2??

Any opinions would be great.

It's raining here and I've been scond guessing myself on this swap for days now. :smokin: :D :usa:

The LT-1 would be a huge improvement over a 6.2. I would run it with the tranny it came with (4L60E).

That's a no brainer on the tranny.

How difficult was your conversion from diesel to gas?????

I was fairly straightforward, didn't really have to fab anything. If you try doing a search on this board or on www.coloradok5.com,
it has been discussed at length many times.

You can use 3/4 stuff up to 1987.('91 on a crewcab 2WD). I think all you need to change is the ball joints, rotors and spindles. You might have to change A arms. Your calipers will work.
