How are you guys circmumventing low overhead door clearance?
I am at 84" and I don't think anything short of running some of the smallest tires I can get with the smallest rims I can use to fit over some D60's with calipers will get my rig out of the garage.
I will be running 39's with 16.5 rims in the near future. I am currently running small 33's with 15 rims and an 8.8 and a D30 with about 4 inches clearance. (with out putting a tape to it)
Anyone have some ideas other than garage only tires and rims?

not really. 84" is 7' hell my 70 fj40 is 7' with 33" tires. only thing i can suggest is using smaller tires or put in a taller door.

was about to say, get some junk wheels and just drive in and out of the garage on those - no tires.

Use rachet straps or a couple big girls to compress the suspension. Just make sure no one has a camera if you opt for the big girls :D

Are you actually asking how to get a rig OVER seven foot tall out through a garage door LESS than seven foot tall? :flipoff2:
There's a reason I put nine foot doors in my shop. Looks like you have a few choices: shop tires as suggested; taller garage door as suggested; bust out the floor and lower it a foot or two and pour a new floor; or create some sort of giant creeper/lift that you pull the truck onto outside the garage, take the wheels off the truck, and then lower the lift and drag the creeper with the truck into the garage...

I've got the same problem and just making do for now until I can add on to the front of it. But you ever seen those car dollies for putting under a tire? Well a buddy of mine had the idea to make something like that but have it bolt up to the hub with the tire off. Drill multiple patterns in it too. Be fine and dandy but I have gravel outside the garage so until that gets poured....

just go to the junkyard and find the smallest set of 8 lug wheels you can...I think I got mine off of a ford van.
Even if you did have a 9 foot door you could pull it in it's still a bitch to do anything other than maintenance to a rig on anything over 35" tires.
Of course thats for me and i'm 5' 6" inch tall, you may be like 7 feet tall and not have that problem

I thought you said the header was 84". That looks like you hit the bottom edge of the opened up door itself, which means the header would be at least a couple inches higher than that, no?
What I did was push my door back when opening it, *past* the edge of the header, so the door would clear the inside of the header (garage side), when door fully open and horizontal.
Then I cut slots the width of the last roller (@ bottom of door when in the closed position) in the tracks on both sides, and could push the door physically out of the tracks. (more like pivot, really)
This worked awesome, I gained all the clearance I needed doing that. The actual header of my garage was about 1/2" above my soft top, and the door itself I could push up as high as need be.

arr. so it does. I mistook the venting for a molding strip at first glance.

I got the same issue. I can't even get my 93F150 in the garage with a ladder rack on it. And it is stock.
