I need a new torque wrench to mount up some beadlocks...I found a pretty good deal locally on some SK models.

http://www.arizonatools.com/tools/torque-wrenches/detail/SK74104/

Are these worth the money or should I spend alittle extra and go with a proto or norbar type torque wrench instead??

I've got their 1/2" drive model just like that. I think it's sweet, but I haven't used a lot of torque wrenches. It's way smoother than the $10 or $20 Harbor Freight specials, which I guess goes without saying.

For hobby work I think it'll do you fine.

I've never priced the 3/8" model, but that seems a bit high. The 1/2" drive is nearly the same.

Here's a math quiz, who stayed at a Holiday Inn last nite?

1/2" drive SK with gloves for $89.99:

or 1/2" drive SK with NO gloves for $99.99:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=46691

note the SK part #'s, same wrench

Hopefully the local HF has the SK wrench in stock, just printed out a 20% discount.

I'd be surprised. I bet it's catalog/internet only

I second that. I placed an order with them last week and opted for ground shipping, saying to myself "well, this ought to be funny, I wonder when I get my tools" they were there 1 day later, shipping was free!

80% of my handtools at work are Sk...you cant go wrong with em. Half the price of snapon and (in my opinion) a better tool.

That torquer oughta suit you just fine.

What's the difference between SK and SK Facom? They've got both listed at the toolwarehouse.

Parent companies... as of May 2005 SK FACOM is no longer, as SK's uppermanagement bought out Facoms share in the company so now they are SK PROFESSIONAL TOOLS, as they were Pre 1985 when Facom bought them out
