The vehicle is a 1962 IH dump truck. It has an SV in it... I would assume it's a 392 but I suppose it could also be a 345. I didn't look that closely at it. It also has a 4-spd with a hydraulic clutch on the passenger side of the bellhousing. Reverse is to the right and up so I guess it's either a T-18 or t-98... tranny also has a PTO (passenger side) and shaft that leads to the pump and resevoir behind the cab. Anyway.... which rear end is this?

Is it the IH corporate? I thought about snagging it but decided not too for the time being because I wasn't sure what it is. Since it has a third member, it doesn't look like it would be that easy to shave and that diffy is HUGE:eek: Oh and if anybody is interested, I have some pics of the engine, PTO and some of the dash/instruments...

Sure looks like the IH corporate. Most have the ring gear riveted to the carrier:barf:

…usually 4:88 or something like that. They are tough:D

Looks like an IH corporate.

I have an IH RA-15 under my tow-rig.

11" ring gear riveted to the carrier, drop-out center.. 1.5" axle shafts, and more ground clearance than a Dana 70.. out of the box.

Mine's open.. though I believe Detroits were available for 'em.

No model numbers on the truck.... on the VIN plate under model # it says C 132-SB There might be another digit between the the "C" and the "1" but it is hard to make out. GVW is 8800 lbs.

Yup, looks just like the IH corporate rear undr my friend's 1300 dump, they are rugged as hell, and if it has the locker sticker in the cab, then it has a detroit. The down side is that the lug pattern, as far as I know all you can get is splits:nuke: :nuke: , so you'll have to find some 8 lug hubs, or make custom rims for it.

What tranny is this thing likely to have? T-18 or T-98????

My bet is the T-98, 90% sure of that. And I also think that's the IH corporate rearend. Don't let the brakes go too long...
