So who hides guns in various places in case shit hits the fan?? I keep a 12ga 870 loaded with 00buck next to my bed, another hid next to my front door. Keep a S&W .44 bulldog on my body at all times, including church. Cleared it with my pastor first:) Also keep an ak with 4 mags behind the seat of my truck. It has come in handy more times than i can count. Taken 4 coyotes with it in the last 3 years:D Some think the ak and 4 30rd mags are a little much but i spend a ton of time on the road and ya never know what you might come upon......Now that i already mentioned it, does anybody else pack heat in church? The local sheriff where i live goes to my church and he does too.. anybody else??? ....

So uh do you have a CCW?
I think the cops may frown on a loaded AK behind your seat...

I am sure that is not much of a problem in Kentucky, I am not gonna try that in Calif. although I, ---MAY--- have a few firearms

Unless you are afraid of being mugged by a grizzly bear, or having cause to crack the engine block of a kenworth, it might not be a bad idea to change to something with a little less penetration than a .44 for the sake of bystanders.

In California maybe. But the rest of the country (except for Wash DC) I believe you are still allowed to protect yourself--ie. with a LOADED weapon.

So, when your house gets broken into when you're not home the thief is gonna be an owner of a whole bunch of new guns huh?
Or when your truck gets robbed there will be a nice gun and few rounds for the guy to have.

BTW, you are a moron.
Now with about 10 minutes of research on the internet I would know exactly how and where to take 3 weapons off of you.

Wasn't there a state or town a few years back that still had an old law on the books requiring folks to keep guns while in church? MA maybe?
Will have to check, but I don't think GA allows concealed carry in churches.

With exceptions, think red vs. blue states. Most "Republican voting" states still allow one to protect ones home with force if necessary. Many of the "Demo voting" states have laws same-similar to CA regarding this... ;)
As far as loaded stashed stuff, IMO no merit given the dogs I have. Push comes to shove, things are reasonably accessable and easily loaded.

Around here there is no need to stash guns or conceal carry. You would definitely be in the minority if you do.

I often debate the loaded/unloaded thing. I don't have kids in my house much and rarely visitors so typically I leave some of my firearms loaded. Don't carry anything with me in the vehicle unless I'm on my way to go shoot somewhere. That may change if I ever get my CCW.

In a little town in Ky, you need an AK for driving, and a .44 for Church?? WTF is up with that? Add in the fact you felt the need to tell us about your collection makes me wonder.
By any chance, does you churches name have the word 'cult' anywhere in it?

Welp I had a friend that was at a stop light in Richmond and guy pulled up next to him, and they started argueing over something. My friend got a gun pulled on him and pointed at his face for a bout 5 seconds and when he gunned the car to get out of the line of fire the other guy shot twice. One round caught my friend in the shoulder and the hit his dash.....If im ever fired upon i fully intend to return fire...... The AK is a bit overkill i will admit, but its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it...Same goes for the .44. If i plan on using a gun on a human, it will be a kill or be killed situation. Shooting them is a last resort, but when i do, i intend for them to stay down.......Any of you who would like to come and make an attempt at stealing my stuff is welcome any time. You will be greeted loudly! There is someone home 24/7 and every member of my family has a CCW and carries. Mom, Dad, G/F, bro, and sister and grandpa.......How many threads have been started in the last couple of weeks about peoples homes getting broken into?? If you were at home are you going to help them load your loot, or defend your property???

You stated the AK was behind the seat. The other guy going to wait while you get out, move the seat, get the gun, and shoot at him before he pulls the trigger?

Again, it is a rural town outside of the 'big' city of Richmond . I live just north of Detroit near Pontiac. And I don't feel the need for that much security. And we have shootings daily in Detroit.
I just feel you are a bit on the parinoid side, actually quite a bit. For your entire family to feel the need to go around armed 24/7 makes me wonder. If you truely are armed like that, I think there is something you aren't telling us, like you line of work.
Oh well, to each his own. Myself, I don't tell strangers on the internet how many guns I may have, where they are, how many people there are, etc. If you really want to be safe, keep the info to yourself. Just my thoughts.

This is always my favorite argument against carrying a gun. Paranoia. While I believe the original poster is a bit excessive, I have a question for you. Do you keep a fire exstenguisher in the kitchen? Do you have insurace? It's a "just in case" thing. I carry a gun because I don't make the ignorant assumptions that 1. The police will help me. They are there after the fact, to punish the guilty, not to prevent anything. and 2. I don't assume "it will never happen to me."
I have not yet and I hope I never ever get involved in an armed confrontation. Ever. But I am prepared for that posibility.

I had a neighbor that used to do that to my dog, but ultimately my dog ate his cat, so I guess we were even in the long run. Seriously a good dog is an awesome first line of defense. Unless it's CTU ( ), and they do recon and poison him or something, a well trained dog will give you that warning that something is up.

I couldn't agree more. Im not a paranoid person. I don't think that something bad is going to happen every five minutes. But bad things do happen to random people at random times. Im with Cue-Ball in that I never want to get in an armed confrontation, and have not yet.... A .38 kept my girlfriend from getting hurt, and a country store from getting robbed last summer. It was closing time and she was the only one there. Guy came in, waved a knife around and asked for the ringout money. She opened the cash registar and pulled out the .38 stuck it in his face and told him to sit down! She kept him there until the cops came! If she was unarmed she would have gotten robbed and maybe worse. Only time she has ever needed a gun in her life, but it was there and she knew how to use it......
Roc Doc...It was not my intention to try to look like a "e-badass" I was just curious as to what other people do to be prepared. Maybe I was a little too detailed, but i just wanted to know who kept what where and why.....

Cue-ball, I don't disagree with the carry idea. It is not a bad idea to carry a weapon for self-defense. However, I was making reference to the AK with 4 clips behind the seat. This is not a defensive weapon, this is a take out everyone, and sort them out later weapon. There are a vast number of better choices for defending yourself in that situation. Also, sitting at the homefront and the entire clan is armed. if someone were to break in, without the proper training, most likely scenerio is they would end up shooting each other in the firefight.
Again, stashed weapons all around the house suggests to me a bit of paranoia, not self-defense. I operate under the idea if you don't look like a victim, you will not become one. My family is the same way.

No offense man, but are you sure about that? I hope her reflexes are spider-like. If she truly "stuck it in his face", she most likely came very close to losing that weapon and her life. Tell her to back up next time, out of reach from the perp, or better yet, have her take a class.

In VA you can carry any legal firearm you want in plane view of the public. And BTW my own pastor has his gun with him at church.

12 ga is within easy reach, but not loaded, however their may or may not be a round in extremely close proximity to said gun. The rest of it is in a safe place, as in my house having a loaded weapon would be irresponsible.

The local sheriff where i live goes to my church and he does too.. anybody else??? ....
It must be terrible to live in such fear. :shaking:

Im sorry i wasn't clear. To be more correct she pointed at his face, she was out of his reach. We all watched the surveilence video and she did very will. Reached in the registar with out ever taking her eyes off the perp. Then instead of pulling out the money she pointed the gun and took a step back and closed the registar. Somewhere between closing the registar and steping back she mannaged to hit the panic button as well..... She has told me that anybody with a weapon that trys to clear the counter she will shoot. I believe she would too.

Our pastor is a CCW holder. I`ve plinked with him a couple times. He has no problem with concealed carry in the sanctuary, as long as your legal. :D
