should i do this??
i did one on a jeep cj with my friend and it was pretty easy, but im pretty sure the shackles, and springs ran under the frame. whereas the shackles and springs on a scout rear run outboard. i was thinking about running a leaf with a spring eye welded on to the end and then taking a spring hanger and welding it outboard of the frame. So that the spring would have two eyes one end that bolted to the shackle and one end that bolted to the spring hanger that was welded outboard of the frame. or should i just run everything under the frame like a jeep and bolt the 3/4 spring to the frame??? Any ideas needed, i would love to go 1/4 elliptical but don't have the time, and i would not want that much articulation, i just want more than the soa.

Why not just inboard the springs? or add a outboard support to carry the buggie? Either way your are gonna have to fab something, so why not go with a1/4 elip? they are alot of fun:D

how hard would it be and how much time for a 1/4 elliptical. Im sure there is a lot of geometry involved, could a highschool boy manage this. I have all the tools to do a 1/4 elliptical. Would i be breaking a lot of springs, i know that one main leaf is the weak point.

Time would depend upon your skills as a fabricator. There is a bunch of good tech on this site about a 1/4 elip. Hell I built mine in my driveway...in Seattle no less and yes it did suck:flipoff2: As far as breaking springs...well I think that was just a freak thing that snoopy had happen. I have as of yet to break a spring.
