Spring over with new springs, new shocks, brakes all around, header, MSD Coil, weber 2barrel 32/36 DGAV, K&N and the usual plugs/wires/etc..., also came with a RR 1.6 Swap kit.

Obviously needs some tires, OTT and some gearing/lockers. The Weber is running rich right now, i need to find somewhere to order new jets for it, it needs to be adjusted for the altitude (i live at 7,000 ft.) I have a rear toyota axle already, still looking for a front.

This isnt my first Sami, i have had a few before. Last couple vehicles were all Toyota's, but got a real good deal on this one.

Looks nice and clean! And yea, you defantly need some new tires....lol

I'd ask Sarge to hook you up with some jets for your weber. He's the man when it comes to those.

Cool man, thanks for the info on the jets.

Forgot to mention it also has a new, still in the box JP-Eater kit from Rocky Road too, with 2.5" YJ Springs. I'm sure someone here has experience with this kit, how is it? Would you recommend staying Spring Over or going back Spring Under? If i do use it, i will wait until i have a front Toyota axle too, and probably look to run 35" or 36" tires.

Someone has to have some input on the Rocky Road JP-Eater Kit....

Sure! the suspension works well. No issues in the performance area. The design is a tad bit funky on the front spring hangers but they aren't an issue. If you have it in the box run it, I doubt that you will be disappointed

I have the RRO Jp-Eater kit on my Zuk with Yota axles...I think it performs pretty well....I agree with NC_Zuk about the funky design on the front hangers....I havent had any problems with it all...If the kit came with it I would put it on....I believe it would be worth your time:smokin:

It looks to be sprung over, what YJ springs are you using, stock height or lifted. The springs the guy gave me with the kit are 2.5" lifted springs. My Sami has 32" TSL's right now, if i spring it over with those springs, its going to be huge huh?

I wonder if it would perform better with the 2.5" springs under the axle, or go find a set of stock springs and put them over the axle?

Good looking Zuk by the way...

SoonerZuk: One more thing, are those the 79-85 Toy Axles, or the IFS rear and spacer/IFS HUb front?

Thanks,
Oki

thanks! i'm using stock Yj springs....they where pretty worn out when i got them...they flex great! yea i think the lifted springs will make it big.....i fit 33x12.50 TSL's just fine...i just did a little trimming on the inside of the fender but you cant tell....i'm using the 79-85 Yota axles with 1.5" spacers.....i love they way it handles but I just want a longer wheelbase so thats why i'm goin to coils and stretching it....you can see it in the thread OKIEZUK started....he's the one doing all the work:smokin:

Cool man, thanks for the info. That gives me a better feeling about mine knowing that you are on the 79-85 axles AND wheel spacers, soon, i'm going to be putting the Toyota IFS Rear that i have and an 85 front with the Sky Widening kit under mine. I saw the pic of yours from the front in the other thread and it was pretty wide looking, dont want mine any wider than that.

Thanks again.

I'll definitely put up some pics as it gets going...

Here's a few with my new shoes that i picked up today...32x9.50's for sure dont want to run the lifted YJ's now, not until these tires are worn out and i can step it up to something bigger.

Yeah it does look a lot better, still way too skinny though!

Thanks for the front pic, gives me a better idea for what i am thinking about.

I'm running '83 Toys with 1.5" spacers on 36" Swampers and the ride is nice!!!
Width takes some getting used to on the tight trails we have here, but I still like it.

Okiyota

I'm not too worried about being too wide for the trails, out here everyone else is running 1 tons and 42. I just wanted to make sure the tires werent going to be obnoxiously sticking out past the body entirely.

that thing looks perfect. i would love to have that EXACT setup. what gears are you running?

Okiyota
05-26-2006, 04:21 PM
Thanks, right now it has stock gears and it is SLLOOOOWWW! I'm trying to figure out what i want to do for the gearing, right now i am leaning towards the stock 4.10's in the Toyota axles and buying a set of 6.4:1 case gears from Trail Tough or the 6:1 from Rocky Road.

i put a 2.5" yj lift spring under the rear of mine and ran 37"tires with no prob.it had a stock yj spring but was too flat, and was not sitting level.you should try the 2.5"lift springs , w/ 35's it should work well.(spring under axle)

Thats one of the things i was wondering, spring over with stock YJ's, or spring under with the 2.5's. Still dont know what i want to do, or what will work the best??

4.10s in the toyota is you best bet, it is the strongest and when run in conjunction with, say 6:1 in the case it is perfect in my oppinion. and i am running 36" iroks and the the stock 1.3. but then again all i do is play around in moab.

For right now, that is the route i am thinking. You say it is low enough for 36's huh? What about on the street, do you ever drive on the street? I am only running 32's right now, but when they are worn, i do plan on going up to a 35 or 36.

I am curious about the performance of Panos setup as well. That is the same drivetrain I am currently working on putting together, I intend to drive it on the street recreationally at least. Most of my driving around base is under 35 MPH so I'm sure I can get by, but I'd love to hear some first hand accounts or street and trail performance.
