Anyone have any idea when Ford put a D60 in a half ton pickup?

Didn't think they put D60's in any half ton trucks.. only 3/4 ton and above... I could be wrong. Thought I was wrong once before, but turns out I was mistaken.

I've never heard of such a thing either but I came across a 61" wide D60 with drum brakes and a 5 on 5.5 lug pattern. I don't know what kind of gears it's got.

Semi-float, with 5 on 5.5? Sounds like a full size Jeep axles? Maybe it was swapped into the Ford it's under now?

Well, my old 60 was from a 67 1/2 TON . Try the 62-67 years. I know that 67 is a cut off year so I believe that you need to look at anything before 68.

Thanks mytzlflick . . . Even us old guys learn something new every day . . . Any idea what year(s) the D60 was optional?

Trailrunner, I learned the difference between a 60 an a 44 the first time I tried to lift a 60.

I have no idea, the one I saw was around late 70's 4x4, I only remember it cause I had a nine for my cherokee and was woundering about factory driveline angles, crawled under buddys truck and found a 60. yeah I'm sure it wasn't a d44, much to large for that.
