Guys,

Trying to expand the ftoys to the East. Sent a PM to Big Rich and asked what it would take to get an Ftoy Series attached to W.E.Rock in the Eastern Pro Nationals.

His Response: Show up and it's that easy. Our course would be the same as the STOCK MODS:smokin: and the Rhinos.

So, to test it out, I'm gonna show up at Jellico and Dothan, AL this summer and run and see what it's like.

If it's favorable and we can get a blessing from the BOD we can start working on getting some guys to compete. More than just me and have a legitimate East Series next year.

Thoughts?

That's all I wanted to hear...that I could sink or swim with my own plan...

I'm working on getting us some insurance coverage for the W.E.Rock events and getting the structure cleared up with Rich. (What to expect...)

Why would you need an insurance plan? If you enter a W E Rock event you are covered under their event insurance.

Thats what I meant and not saying we need a seperate plan but want to get the details for what all is involved. IIRC you have to register for the season to get the coverage.

Will pitch this to Hobie over a phone call and see what happens.

If this happens I'd be a lot more inclined to start building this winter as opposed to next...

Dude, I KNOW your not serious about that...Tempting..very tempting. I would almost do that just to trade for your FJ

Zeeto,

YOU of all people I know would truely appreciate this so....? How about it? I'm trying to get enough orders together to go to Whaley.

It would have to be a 4seater....I don't really wanna give up the 40 though. Wish I had cash/time/skillz to build one and compete.

Yeah I know, but I wouldn't be picking one up until atleast Oct/Nov because my wife will hound me day and night if I start another project before finishing this one.
I was supposed to start a buggy for her based on the lines of a vehicross this fall, but maybe I can convince her on an fToy instead.
When do you think you'll be doing it from Whaley? Before fall? Pretty sure they're within a few hours of me; I could probably help with pickup even if I'm not grabbing one...

Um, no your not, in fact no promoters insurance does or ever have in the history of all major motorsports. Our insurance covers sponsors and us from lawsuits and such.

You can however join under a policy that we are drawing up for all competitors. PM my dad for more info on this. It will cover you in the event of a lawsuit and possibly vehicle theft. Though I am not sure on the later of the two.

Zeeto,

Yeah, Shannon would kick your ass for sure... but definately think the Ftoy route would be the way to go and economical with all things compared.

Well, Vince wants one and it would have to be September to place the order then however long it would take Whaley to get them together. They need 5 orders (will confirm this today with a phone call) to make a run. They buy the tube pre-bent from Hendrix then assemble them in house.

So guess to answer your question: Fall. But will get details today and post them up. If you and I are in for a chassis, then that leaves 3 to fill and that shouldn't be too terribly hard to do.

Cool, keep me posted.

You should try and hit up the jambo at PAP Aug 18-20th. We'll be there atleast the 19th and 20th, but I may be going down the 17th and wheeling the 18th with her coming down that night...

Update...

Heard back from Otter at Whaley. They would love to make another run of Ftoys. We need 5 orders for them to do it and the costs (tube, shipping) must be prepaid then the labor for welding due upon completion.

Otter feels he can make 1 in a LONG day and would be willing to make 5 in 5 days so you guys can have them ASAP.

If you want in on this, PM me and you will pay Whaley directly and when we have all 5...they call Hendrix.

Also, I've purchased the domain http://www.formulatoyeast.com and own my own webserver so the site will be up in 30 days and will contain info specific to the East series with W.E.Rock and a self subscribing email list.

We can't expect someone to hold our hands and set this up for us...we must show our own initiatives. :)

I'm doing an axle swap and dual case install on my Tacoma. When that's done, I'll start the Formula Toy.

Update..

Been working on a contingency program for the East Series and got my first confirmed sponsor

http://www.wabfab.org (WabFab Offroad) will pony up a 50 dollar Gas Card to the 4th place finisher in the 07' Eastern Series.

Welcome aboard Wabfab and thanks for stepping up for the Ftoys. I'm using their custom Optima Battery Tray in my build up and thought so much of it, had to ask them to join in on the fun.:smokin:

Pay out next year will be 4 deep for each event. I'm still working but will post the updates here in this thread as they develop.

Been watching this develope and can't stand it any longer! I ordered my F-Toy from Mike and it'l be picked up later this week along with my brothers X-chassis:grinpimp:. Taking all the running gear out of my 4runner and should easily be ready for testing later this year and comps next season. Anybody on this side need a chassis picked up? I know it's late notice but we may be able to bring 1 more back.

Damn straight. Nice. :smokin: Welcome John and another to compete. We have 4 guys right now with verbal commitments or have ordered a chassis already in the East. Maybe your brother will run recovery for us in his X-Chassis. They are sweet if you've never seen one up close.

It's gonna be close. If anyone knows someone that may be interested in getting a chassis they need to contact me soon as this is gonna go down in the next couple days.

I'm gonna go auto trans on my Ftoy. Anybody got one set up with a auto yet? Thinking Inchworm unless there's a better choice.
