Not sure what happended on that first post but my pc "hung" ... I rebootetd and reposted and can't delet the first post..oh well!

Just thinking out loud here...
can a H55f 5 speed trans be mated to a Chevy bellhousing and if so what adapter? I know the logical thing would be to use a nv4500 behind a chev but if a guy had a h55f with a split t-case could it be mated ? I assume it can just haven't heard of anyone doing it?

Yep, it's no different than mating a H42 or H41 to a chevy.

Yes, this is what I'm doing. 350 TBI, Chevy Bellhousing, Ranger Underdrive, h55f, split case. You can also use any adapter designed for the 4spd. A Downey 360 degree bellhousing with a h55f might be the cheapest way to mount a 350 in a 60 with a 5speed.

Hey Eric V, why didn't you use the Mark's adapter?
is the AA the cheaper/easier to install, or what
