89 hb 4x4 what rear end?

i have just bought a 89 nissan truck 4x4 and i was wondering if the 89 has a h233b rear or the c200 rear end i was planning on doing a SAS swap since i already have the waggy d44 front just trying to decide to stay with the rear i have now or go with something else? also is there any lockers or LSD's for the rear that i have now. thanks

You have the H233b if its a removable pumpkin type. 31 spline.

If its a SE model you should have a LSD. You can use a powertraxx lock right or ARB air locker. Detroit lockers where available.

V6 has the H233B rear, 4-cylinder 4x4 had the C200 until 95 or 96.

Can't use the Lockright or Detroit w/ an LSD rear, requires the open carrier.

My 1994 with a four cylinder had the H223B rear end. I put a lock-rite in it. The box for the lock-rite said for a truck with a V-6.

my truck is a 4 cylinder 5 speed .i was thinkin of going with a toyota rear because i saw the price on the gears for those rear ends for the nissan and theyre expensive

Exactely, and also if you use a standard rear end the parts will be available from the corner drug store. I wouldn't suggest a Yota rear though because imho they are not an upgrade, just cheap.

so i guess i have the c200 rear end? is this axle weaker than the h233b also is there any locker out there for this axle?

The C200 has the bolt-on rear cover. It's a pretty decent axle in its own right.
Only locker for it is the ARB.

i looked under the truck i dont have the drop out member so it must be the
c200 rear with the rear cover.im probally going to put a h233b rear in it or something else other than the rear i have now.

I have h233b in my rear of my 1986 PU and I cannot find Detroit nor LockRite for it. Looks like the only option is ARB now, which is little bit pricey for me. I have stock LSD in my h233b and I cannot really go with LockRite - I'd have to change diff case to open type. But that's ok since it's just my DD :)

Most if not all SE trucks and pathys have LSD in the rear 86.5+.
