If the wheel bolts to a hub of some kind it is a full floater. If the wheel bolts to the axle it is semi floater. If you are lucky there is a tag on one of the diff bolts with gear ratio and/or tooth count. If not count the number of times the driveshaft turns to tuns the wheels once or pull the cover and read the tooth count off the gears or count them. Get A manual and do some reading.

if you can take your axle shaft our of your axle tube with out takin the wheel off then you got a full float... pretty much the best full float you can get is a GM 14 bolt, which is a 10.5in ring gear.. and has a removable pinion yoke...

Looks like one newb is repling to another...

The 14 bolt is a very stong axle, but the Dana 70 is much stronger and the sterling 10.25 is even a little stonger than the 14 bolt.

and the newest Sterling, with it's metric pattern, is a full 10.5 inches as well.
