You couldn't get me to tow anything more than a lawn mower with one of those rediculous hitches. Imagine the leverage on that thing! Totally unsafe IMO.

That's what I was thinking. Soft. flexy long travel suspension, no sway bar, lots of leverage......

Raise the trailer or the tounge of the trailer.... or lower the tow vehicle.

You would normally have bars going from the bottom of the hitch (ball mount area) and then diagonally up and bolted to the frame. If you go that way it's just as strong if not stronger than a regular set up.

Yup. I won't use anything more than a 6" drop.

Not safe at ALL! Tow rigs shouldn't be lifted, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My wife can't believe I refuse to lift my CTD.

My opinion as well. Tow rigs should be where they are at, as low to the ground as reasonable.

Certainly nothing much taller than stock 4x4.

I "lifted" my towrig via rubber, but that's it. I prefer stability when I'm towing, maybe it's just me...

Valley Spring Service makes some huge drops. I don't know what they're rated but I know of quite a few guys in Texas running them. I think they start around $300.

"TECHNICALLY" I'm lifting my tow rig (2" front, 1.5" rear) but I don't really count that. I just wanted some more fender room for the 315s.

What happens to the receiver for every 1' of extension or this case drop hitch added to it?

Cuts the capacity of the receiver in half?

THE CHAD

well i have a class 5 receiver so even with a 12inch drop mine would still be stronger than most of the class 3 receivers that 99% of the tow rigs on here are using:smokin:

Lifting a tow rig is stupid.

Don't even get started on how a class 5 hitch is so great, having 14" drop negates that completely, you may as well go to a 1-1/4" hitch on a Kia, it'll about as appropriate as what you're proposing. You're the knothead that broght this upon yourself.
