Well Friday after work I jumped on the freeway to get home and as I neared on onramp a CHP was trying to get on. The lady in front of me freaks out because of the CHP and slows down to 50MPH! The fast lane is full so I cant get over and I didnt want to slam my brakes on so I kept behind the peeker chic. Well this impeded the CHP's progress by 2 seconds getting on the freeway. I told my dog " watch these guys pull me over because I held them up for 2 seconds" and wham the lights come on.:mad3:
They come up to the cruiser and say " you know you need mud flaps on this? " I said "Mudflaps?! Ive been driving it this way for 15 years" Then they just have this blank stare because they just realised that they are the only ones doing there job for the last 15 years that 100s of CHP's have driven by me. "Well your breaking peoples windows with this j*%p, you put lift springs on you have to put mud flaps on" One of them is just sneering at my cruiser, probably a tree hugger. I said "lift springs?! Look at how flat those springs are!" Well this put him in a rampage and he said "keep it up and Ill find something on this where you will never drive it again" I said "like what?". He storms off to his buddy.
Any way I had to make some flaps this weekend. Its not so much that I dont like them, its more that someone other than me can tell me what to put on my cruiser. I mean if I was cracking peoples windshields every day I would put them on myself. I try to drive in town like the DMV tester is sitting next to me. We get enough bad press from 4x4 commercials. I even paid 100 bucks for the blinker assembly on my own accord. Oh well , Ill run these on the road and pull them off for wheelin. Got the rubber from NAPA for 8 bucks a flap and used a hack saw to cut them to size. Had some metal around to make the frame. It just looks funny from the front where the mangled NAPA logo is!:D
