: Why do people say no air shocks on a F/S?

All I hear is how you can't run a full size truck on air shocks, it will never work. Blah fuckin blah web wheeling bull shit. Are people basing this on the fact that a fully loaded truck would out weigh the shocks?

If a stripped down truck with no bed has a rear sprung weight WELL (500-600 pounds per corner) below the reccomended ratings of the shock then why wouldn't an air shock set up work on a F/S rig? I read through the air shocks on an S10 thread and it is obvious others run air shocks on F/S rigs with no out of the ordinary issues. :shaking:

Well once you loose the bed and cut the rig up is it really a fullsize anymore?

It is a wieght issue.

If your rig has a legit wieght under the limits for the shock then there is no reason not to use them.

Of course rember that your static wieght on flat ground is not the number you want to use, you need to take into account the different attitudes the truck wil see and error to the safe side wieght rating wise. What you see as aload on the rear end can change drasticly when the rig is at an odd angle and if you are running. You may have cut the bed off and the back may only wiegh 600 pounds per corner but when you try to doa big climb and transfer some wieght the heavy front then moves you up over the limit for the air shock and is that really when you want to bottom out your suspension?
