Anyone successfully replace a rear main seal while it's in the vehicle? I have a 350 in an 83 burb. If I'm going to have to pull the damn thing, I going to go ahead and build another motor for it. I also need to do the front main seal on the tranny, so I was thinking of trying it while the tranny/tcase were out. I used 2 qts of oil on a roundtrip from Tucson to Phoenix this weekend. Ouch!

I've heard of doing a 2-piece seal without dropping the tranny... I'm looking for info on that now, as mine leaves a nice mark wherever I go.
