The Jerk 04-15-2002, 02:45 PM umm i think im up a creek, this is all i have as far as teh carb. did i get fawked by who i bought it from?
If it's an Impco 425, you'll need a base plate from a holley to bolt it to or an adaptor to a Q-jet. This is what I was told then I ordered my mixer, mine should be here today or tomorrow, I'll take a pic when it gets here.

It' not 425, it's 300a, That's made for dual fuel with a carb or with a dry throttle body. It mounts into an air cleaner over the carb. Look at the writeup on this site, same thing.
Jason M 04-15-2002, 02:57 PM This is how they mount to a six banger LC engine. If you still had the six I could easily help you :flipoff2:
you are not stuffed. There was a guy that e-mailed me a while ago that had a bunch of old parts. He might have another adapter to a carb....

I have two of those 300a's with none the other parts to make them work. After pricing the air cleaner, throttle body and misc parts to make it work, I deceided to buy the 425 mixer (100 bucks used, 250 new). For me, It just makes for less parts to screw up. But now I need to sell these 300s.

Uhhhhh, a 300a is NOT a dual fuel model. You take your carb throttle plate, bolt it to the bottom of the 300a, and you're good to go. Only thing he is missing is the air cleaner.

Lance 04-15-2002, 10:07 PM Ok, I guess Im wrong. There are two different Impco Imperial 300a's. There is the 300a-1 and the 300a-20. The 300a-20 is a dual fuel, and the 300a-1 is straight propane like I have. Looks liek you have the dual fuel unit. :(
