With the rising cost of steel we simply cannot sell them for a fair price any longer. In the west we are too far from the source of the steel. When I need them I get them from Zack at AtoZ fab, he has the best price going.

Yes, I regularly recommend other providers if they make something for a better price. And Zack is a good provider too!

Right now I do not. I don't entirely agree with welding to the casting. Many people that did this a year or so ago when it started to become popular are now having big leaking issues. The IDEA is great but not everyone is prepared to execute properly and the instructions I see givven are completely inadequate or even outright wrong, as if a skilled experienced welder wasn't even asked...

I couldn't agree more. Many people don't realize the steps to properly weld to cast. Is there enough material there to do some kind of bolt on kit? That would open up a new market.

Im sorry I dont think I was very clear the first time. I wasent talking about a "full" shave where you cut open the bottom of the diff and weld a flat piece in. just a modified cover that would allow shave up to, and maybe eliminate the bottom cover bolt.

Lots of people shave our cover like you are describing, I would want to add a couple of smaller holes to do it right though. However it will very likely leak just due to the spread between the holes.

I got one of these, for a d60 and have a ARB locker, and was surprised to see that the cover hits the copper air line on the non ring-gear side, I could make the modification myself, but I think that it would maybe warp it, and thats why I didn't build from scratch in the first place??? any help???

Gravel Maker

It all depends on who installs the ARB. You can install them out of the wau but I would just bend the line.

And they have a 14 bolt semi float axle with a 9.5" ring gear. And an eaton e-locker.

No worries, what rear axle does it have?

Sorry, responded too fast. I don't know if anyone is making one for the SF, maybe its time...

It's all good. There are a couple people that make some aluminum covers. Like the one I have from oru. But I want something a lot beefier.the only issue is that it has to be made to clear the panhard bar. So it can't stick out much from the axle.

Any chance of a Dana 80 cover?

We really have had no demand for them. I think you need to run 50" tires before they clear the ground, they are a very tall housing...I haven't measured but they look to have about 2" less clearance than a 14 bolt.
