The body work completed we primes and painted this Jeep Cherry red.

She has 33 inch BFG all terrain Tires and a Chevy V8 engine

The grillwas broken so Nate and I scored a older kind of rough Willy's WWII MB grill for her , and it will make the jeep stand out more as Nate wanted it too!

After all it is his Jeep.

The engine is tied in through a Chevy bellhousing to a T-90 tranny/ transfercase for now!

We do have plans to upgrade the Dana axels and tranny at a latter date...$$$ it's alwys about that stuff!

Nate is still heat stripping and sanding the fenders and grill.

We added some stronger steel frames to the windshield frame so when it get's rough the frame won't break or twist.

Can't trust that old steel sometimes...LOL

She is coming out pretty nice and Nate will have lots of fun Rock Crawling all over Texas.

The Jeep is street Legal so when he get's his Licence he can drive to and from School with it too...LOL

Pics are working, think its great you and your son can do that together.

Say, where did you track down that grill? I have been wanting to do something similar but can only find grills from High hoods..

Thats a cool project! Me and my dad are doing our project together, looked at a cj-3b but decided on a 7. And yes the pics are working because the forum does allow you to hotlink from remote sites such as photobucket (I do that even though I have a star don't ask why).

Anyways sweet build keep us up to date!

I like this Jeep page much more then I do the Ford Page, seems more friendly to Nate and I!

Lot of anger on the Ford page.

We posted our M151A1's and our M151 Desert Racer on the Ford page because they were built by Ford and we took a beating for it...LOL

The M151 series Mutt (Jeep) was designed by Willy's Overland so it is a Jeep design and Willy's did build some of the oldest models, but Ford won the contract and just like during WWII Willy's was forced to share the building design and contract with Ford. for the Vietnam war effort or build up.

This vehicle was also built by AM General then part of AMC so Thge M151 was built buy more then one company.

Jeep has a insane legacy anyway.

Most people don't know that Jeep and AM General has crossed baths many times and the Hummer/Hmmwv are related.

Did anyone know that Willy's Overland was started from a buy out of a part of AM Genral in 1912?

But it was Bantam who made the first Prototypes to what would later be called Jeep! The "BRC" Bantam Reconosnce Car!

Willy's Overland was bought by Kaiser, then Kaiser by AMC who also owned AM General!

Then AM Genral stayed it's own company and AMC was bought out by Chrysler who inturn is now Diamler Chrysler.

So Jeep has been mixed in with just about every auto dealer through the past 70 years.

I also thought AM General was related to GM?

Looks like itll be pretty nice once its done. But I do have to say I thought the stuff welded to my front bumper was ugly, but yours makes it look artful. I know its a brushguard but it seems a little overdone. Enjoy it.
