I have a 74 cruiser and I'm looking to ditch the front drum brake set up. The bad news is that I live in Yuma AZ. Does anyone know of a wrecking yard with the Toyota axle required to do it between Phoenix and LA? There are none in the local area. TAPRecycling will mail me the setup, but they want $375 plus shipping. Seems a little pricey, but it is convenient. Thanks.

Not for the full mini axle. Just for the things needed to get the disk brakes on the cruiser (which is fine by me). Apparently they've dealt with this before... Oh yeah, shipping is about another $75.

Good deal? I guess I lucked out. I picked up a front axle- little rusty, hub to hub (missing one caliper), all for the whopping price of.... 80 bucks.

375 sounds steep. Plus, TAP sucks. Do a search, and you'll find quite a few unhappy customers.

I bought a mini front axle locally (NorCal) for $200.

Thanks, Ross!
