Just when out to start my 40 and it ran for a minute and died.

I have an HEI on my 350 and when the ignition is on, the distributor makes a buzzing noise.

Any ideas?

THe usual things that go out on the HEIs are the module or the coil. Normally when you rig will start and dies shortly after its the module. Happened to me a couple of times. Used to carry both for spares.

it is grounding out.


You running a ground strap?

MORE THAN LIKELY.......it's the module, 99% of the time........could be the PU coil, 3rd is the actual coil, only seen a couple of these fail in my years of wrenching.......when I ran the HEI I carrried an extra Dist with cap and coil, Kristie has it now since she is running that.
Call me if ya need some help I will be working late and have my cell on me.

Well Jack was gettin' fire jumping thru my body via my belly.......I was laying on the coil wire......:eek: :shaking: :rolleyes:
