I came upon an old divorced Rockwell transfer case laying on the ground at the boneyard. The thing was massive and the front and rear outputs were about 6 or 7 inches below the imput centerline. Had a righthand drop and a low of 2.07 to 1. Is anyone using one of these beasts?

skeetshooter has one, hasn't used it yet, gonna use it in a dual setup as the second case because it has the drop on the outputs allowing him to clear the first case easier.

His is the smaller one, came out of an old ford with a Napco front

I can't help ya on the bigger rockwells, but I'd bet you won't break it... I use the smaller rockwell (timken) T-221 in my pos, it's a strong case, 1.92:1 low range, dropped outputs, they came in chevys divorced with a 420 or married to a 465.

why would anyone want to use it, unless he
had a 10 ton and up truck?

it is a t-case used on the 6x6 15 ton military trucks
(ask Daniel) and it is made for extreme loads.

i think that even for a very heavy 4x4 rig,
with 2.5 ton Rockwells or other H/D axles,
the 205 is strong enough.

yeah this sounds like a hunk of junk that has a crappy low range and weighs about 300lbs go 205
