Father has a blank slate. The foundation is poured at 24x36. Other than that, what do you guys who have build one thought of that has worked. We are goinig with 10.5 ceiling, no posts, small bathroom, dormer for a work area upstairs.
What else do you recommend?
Thanks,
Chad

12' cieling or higher ceiling, adds little $ to the construction costs

That's what we thought, but the guy seemed to think that 10.5 was plenty. I'll have to check back in about that. How bout heat? What have most done. We have 2 flues started, wood stove, and maybe a oil heater? Propane? What about lights? Does anyone have anything to say about something other than flouresant? Best stair setup to get to the top? What about doing a dutch roof insead of the dormer?
I know this has been talked about in the past, but.....

If there's even a remote possibility you'll add a car hoist later I'd go with a higher ceiling. Check with your homeowners insurance about a wood stove in a garage, some won't cover it.
