I'm about to do this swap: is there anything I need to watch out for? I'll be swapping over the whole drivetrain, and basically everything underhood except the radiator. The radiator will be replaced with a Summit aluminum deal. The 454 ECM will be going in, too.

anything going to bite me??

**apologies if this has been answered a million times

ha!

well..... that's actually why I have a 454 available: work truck gets a Cummins. I am currently getting a super economical 7.5mpg loaded. OOOH

not much better in the Blazer I'll guess.

Vehicle applications would help. As in donor & recipient truck.

oops

vehicle getting the 454 is a 1989 Blazer, which currently has a 350. Both motors are TBI, the truck losing the 454 is a 1987 K30. Chevy to Chevy, yee ha

You may have to get (OK I forgot what it's called!) I think it is the brake assist, anyway it's the round thing behind the brake master cylinder. You may need to get a smaller one to clear the 454's valve covers. If you have a body lift it won't be an issue. Oh, and your front springs will need some help. The 454 weighs a bit more.

cool..I'm swapping to HydroBoost and one ton springs at the same time, so those two issues should be ok...

vacuum booster. The round thing.
