I'm Having a hard time finding the right people to talk to about tranny swaps.

Question: What is the Best 4 speed transmission to bolt onto a 1998 Wrangler TJ with stock I6 and T-case

Aw4 or th700r4

in the view of cost and bolt on

What years are good to get and what is the average cost of the better transmission

The Three is nice but Four is better

Thanks.

stick with the AW-4! It's a great tranny.

after 2 months of debating this issue myself i spent 500$ and rebuilt my 32RH (98 TJ) 3 spd.

AW-4 to make it run correctly AEV sells a wiring kit for 350.00 + 600$ for a rebuilt

700r4 adapter from AA probably 500$ + transfer case adapter + 600$ for a rebuilt
