Is it best to use a fj40 rear axle housing when upgrading to toy axles in a samurai? If so what years? Thanks

Alot of people are running the truck axle. I believe the FJ has a huge diff and hangs lower.

just keep your zuk low and run a double cardan driveshaft, this should keeps the ugly vibes at bay:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

the FJ diff only hange down 1/2" more then the pick up diff. Not a bad trade-off for the off-set rear end

I haven't got it out wheeling yet but I really like the LC rear. The only problems are the lack of e brake and the huge pumpkin. I've just learned to live with out the e brake and as for the pumpkin, sawzalled the gas tank skid plate and hammered the tank itself. Of course, I also moved the axle back as much as I could. You probably won't run into that. I would say, if you don't already have the axles and there is not much price difference, go with the LC rear. They are super beefy and will probably be the last axle you will ever buy. Of course, if you already have the truck axle or there is a large price difference, chose accordingly.

Much better is to modify pick up housing from centered to righ side one and use LC ends and axles, splines are the same and match right on pick up side gears.
